Our members join for a variety of reasons. Life-long friendship, scholastic endeavors, leadership development, and even being part of a historic organization are just some of the benefits that come with being a member of Gamma Rho Lambda. Each member of our sisterhood has an opportunity to invest her time and efforts to gain whatever she wants out of the experience.

One of our main focuses as an organization is that social events are comfortable, safe, and fun environments for all members. We are a social group, but we also function as a support system. While Gamma Rho Lambda's members are each unique, as is each chapter, typical social events may include athletic events, barbeques, game nights, movie nights, annual banquets, and camping trips.

Gamma Rho Lambda also participates in various philanthropic activities. Volunteering is done locally throughout the year for matrix requirments each sister must must fulfill. Organizations and activities are decided on at a local level and can include anything from volunteering for Girl Scouts to women's organizations to animal shelters. Although we do not currently have a national philanthropy, it is something the National Council is considering for the future.

Sisters also have the opportunity to participate in business meetings and grow on a professional level. Local Chapters and committees meet regularly to plan various social events, fundraisers, contributions, and more. Members are encouraged to participate and apply for available positions in their local Chapter.

As we are still a young sorority, a major benefit that many sisters join for is to be part of a historic organization. Whether you are leading the foundation of a colony on your own campus or joining a chapter that's just been established, you will share in the momentous journey that all GRLs are participating in, both in Greek Life and the LGBTQ community.
