Awards

Each year at Convention we present national awards to Chapters and siblings who are outstanding in their contributions to the sorority.

Nominations open in January 2024, are due by March 10th, and awards will open for member voting no later than March 24th. Voting will close April 28th.

In each nomination include the Chapter or individual you are nominating and a brief description of why they deserve that award. We recommend 3-5 sentences per nomination. Remember to include the designation of the Chapter you are nominating, even if it is your Chapter.

Awards presented at Convention 2024 are for efforts of siblings and Chapters from the previous calendar year, January - December 2023. We know many Chapters hold elections on the calendar year, not academic year. Officers from both the spring and fall semester are eligible for Convention 2024 awards. For example, the person who was president in Spring 2023 or Fall 2023 are both eligible for awards. Please limit your nominations to events and position holders from 2023.

Chapter Awards

  • Most Improved Chapter

This award recognizes the Chapter that demonstrates the greatest improvement overall in terms of scholastic improvement, community involvement, leadership, programming, philanthropic efforts, etc.

  • Outstanding Chapter

This is the highest honor bestowed to Chapters each year. This award takes into consideration all award applications and the qualifications of those individual awards in their entirety. And, although consideration is given to overall performance in those awards categories, criteria can and will involve determination of observed chapter performance throughout the past year.

  • Outstanding Community Involvement

Awarded to the Chapter that demonstrates a high level of commitment to improving the community– whether that is their Greek/FSL community, their local LGBTQIA+ community, or any other community the Chapter identifies itself with. This can be accomplished through participation or leadership in programs, volunteering, working through a series of events over time, or however else the Chapter engages in community.

  • Outstanding Recruitment and Social Media Presence

Awarded to a Chapter that demonstrates an outstanding annual recruitment and social media presence through innovative programming, social media efforts, and commitment to the growth of the Chapter and National Sorority.

  • Outstanding Scholars

Awarded to the Chapter that demonstrates a commitment to academics. Considerations include Chapter GPA, demonstrated commitment to academics during the new member program, and an ongoing, active process in supporting Chapter members’ scholastic endeavors.

  • Outstanding Siblinghood

Awarded to a Chapter that demonstrates a true sense of siblinghood and a strong intra-fraternal spirit through its fellowship programming and daily interactions. This can include non-scholastic programming, alum-focused programming and events, programming to enrich the GRL experience, relationship-building activities, etc. These programs may have been done jointly with another organization, on or off campus, an organization at another campus, or independently as a Chapter.
