I joined GRL because I wanted to be more involved at my campus and also meet folks within our student community interested in the same ideas and goals as me. GRL stood out to me because it was a home away from home as a student who commuted to and from CSUN. I always felt welcomed and the bond I had with my siblings helped me keep memories afloat after our chapter closed.

I started volunteering nationally because of the current dynamic that we are living in. I felt that I needed to do more now that I have finished part one of my educational journey. With my previous role at my job, I was too exhausted with the commute and working 8 hours in a day that I had no time to commit to anything since on average my day consisted of a total of 12 hours with commuting, working, and commuting back home. Now that I work from home, I want to be able to give back to the organization that helped provide me with support through the years that I was at CSUN.

So far I am enjoying the role and the folks I have been interacting with. Everyone has been very receptive and understanding when I reach out and I am looking forward to working with everyone!
